On 07 March 2019, at the Embassy of France in Hanoi, the JSC Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Quadran International (France) and Truong Thanh Vietnam Group officially inked the credit contract worth USD37 million for Cat Hiep Solar Power project in Binh Dinh province.

French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary hosted the signing ceremony. Representatives of  embassy, BIDV and partners were in attendance.

The Solar Power Project based in Cat Hiep commune, Phu Cat district, Binh Dinh province has been designed with capacity of 49.45 MWp. The project is co-invested by Quadran International (QI) and Truong Thanh Vietnam Group. The project is timely completed to put into operation by the end of June 2019. With the projected power output of about 76,500 MWh per year, the project is in line with Vietnam National Renewable Energy Development Strategy, Vietnam National Green Growth Strategy,  and the Power Development Plan of Binh Dinh Province for period of 2016 - 2025, vision to 2035. This is the first green energy - solar power development project funded by BIDV with the participation of foreign investors.

BIDV Ha Thanh branch – one of the largest branches of BIDV was chosen to provide capital to the project. Besides, BIDV branches in Binh Dinh province will coordinate closely with Ha Thanh branch to ensure the project is implemented and operated smoothly and effectively.

Previously, in November 2018, under the witness of the Mr. Édouard Charles Philippe - Prime Minister of France and Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc – Prime Minister of Vietnam, BIDV, Quadran International and Truong Thanh Vietnam Group signed the credit facility agreement to finance Cat Hiep Solar Power Project.
