Every year, ASOCIO evaluates more than 10,000 applications from 24 member associations to select individuals, organizations and businesses with outstanding achievements contributing to overall development and application of information technology. In 2023, ASOCIO granted 08 award categories to 52 organizations all over the world. BIDV is the only representative from Vietnam to receive the Digital Transformation Award, along with other countries like South Korea, Thailand, Singapore, etc.

As the longest-standing commercial bank in Vietnam, BIDV currently identifies digital transformation as one of three key development pillars in the period from 2022 to 2025, with a vision to 2030 of becoming “The leading financial institution in Southeast Asia with the best digital capabilities in Vietnam”. Since 2022 up to now, BIDV has achieved many outstanding achievements in the field of digital transformation; especially the launch of digital products designed specifically for different customer segments such as BIDV Private Banking, new generation BIDV SmartBanking, BIDV iBank, BIDV Smart Kids, etc.

By September 30th, 2023, the number of customers using BIDV's digital channels reached nearly 12.5 million individual customers (accounting for nearly 70% of the individual customer base, an increase of 3.5 million customers compared to the same period last year), and 132,299 institutional customers (accounting for more than 50% of the institutional customer base, an increase of more than 29,000 customers compared to the same period last year). The number of financial transactions of individual customers on digital channels reached nearly 90%.

BIDV’s digital transformation results have been highly appreciated by domestic and international organizations: The State Bank of Vietnam awarded a Certificate of Merit in 2023 for outstanding digital transformation performance; VINASA granted nearly 40 digital product and solution awards since 2011; IDG Magazine granted Outstanding Digital Bank awards in 2020, 2021, etc. Especially, the 2023 award from ASOCIO continues to affirm BIDV's position as one of the pioneering banks in the field of digital transformation in Vietnam, contributing to enhancing BIDV’s international brand.
