Mr. Pham Tan Cong – Deputy Secretary of Central Business Bloc Party Committee; Mr. Doan Thai Son – Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; representatives  from the Central Business Sector’s Party Committee and State Bank of Vietnam; members of BIDV’s Board of Directors, Board of Management and senior leaders of BIDV were in attendance.

Mr. Pham Tan Cong  said the approval of the title of Deputy Secretary of BIDV Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term for Mr. Le Ngoc Lam is a significant step to finalizing the bank party committee, thereby enhancing the comprehensive leadership of Party over BIDV’s operations – a special state-owned business.

Addressing the ceremony, the Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Mr. Doan Thai Son said the appointment of Mr. Le Ngoc Lam to the position of Chief Executive Officer of BIDV will help the bank improve management capacity for successfully implementing the bank’s 2021-2025 development strategy with vision to 2030; demonstrating the key role of BIDV in the implementation of monetary policies and the national economic development.

In response, Mr. Le Ngoc Lam – the Chief Executive Officer expressed his sincere thanks to the Central Business Bloc Party Committee, the leadership of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Board of Directors of BIDV for their trust in him. Mr. Lam committed that in the new position, he will make greater efforts to lead and run BIDV’s operations safely, effectively and sustainably.

Earlier the same day, at BIDV’s annual general meeting of shareholders 2021, Mr. Le Ngoc Lam was elected to BIDV’s Board of Directors for the 2017-2022 term.

(*) Mr. Le Ngoc Lam was born in 1975. He started working for BIDV in 1997. He was appointed Deputy Head of BIDV Credit Risk Management Department in March 2009, and Deputy Head of BIDV Sogiaodich 1 Branch in October 2010. In April 2012 he was appointed Head of BIDV Credit Risk Management Department and then Head of BIDV Corporate Banking Department in April 2013. He was appointed Senior Executive Vice President of BIDV on 15 January 2015. On 15 November 2018 he was assigned to be in charge of BIDV’s Board of Management. On 12 March 2021, he was elected by the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders to the BIDV Board of Directors for the 2017-2022 term and assigned by the Board of Directors to be the Chief Executive Officer of BIDV.
