BIDV Smart OTP is a new authentication method that employs the most modern and advanced security technology with many outstanding advantages, including:

• Safer & more secure with a unique OTP for each transaction.
• Convenient & easy with a built-in app on your smartphone and OTP can be generated even in off-line mode.
• No Token Key or Roaming is required when traveling abroad. App can be used even when your phone is disconnected.
• Free of charge.

From 1 July 2019, BIDV Smart OTP is a compulsory authentication method applicable to the following cases:

• For individual customers: Money transfer transactions to other holders’ accounts which amount over VND100 million/transaction or over VND100 million/day via BIDV Online, BIDV SmartBanking.
• For corporate customers: All domestic and international money transfer transactions to other holders’ accounts via BIDV Business Online.

To ensure customers’ interests and enhance customer experience, please follow the below steps to convert to the authentication method - BIDV Smart OTP:

For individual customers

• Step 1: Register to convert to Smart OTP authentication method by taking one of two following options:

+) At BIDV transaction points nationwide

+) Via online channels:

For BIDV SmartBanking: Please register here

• Step 2: Download and install BIDV Smart OTP app from Apple Store or Google Play.
• Step 3: Activate the app following the information provided by BIDV, specifically:

+ In case of conversion at bank counters: BIDV shall provide printed copies for customers, including Smart OTP user ID/password for activation.

+ In case of online conversion: Smart OTP user ID/password will be sent to customers' registered phone number via SMS.

For corporate customers

Corporate customers using BIDV Business Online shall effect the authentication conversion at BIDV's transaction points nationwide by taking the following steps:

• Step 1: Fill in the request form for change of registration information, selecting authentication conversion from Hardware token to Smart OTP.
• Step 2: Smart OTP user ID/password will be sent to your email.
• Step 3: Download, install and activate the Smart OTP app.

Remarks:

- For individual customers: After 1 July 2019, customers who have not effected BIDV Smart OTP authentication method still can use BIDV e-Banking service with a maximum transfer limit of VND100 million/transaction and VND100 million/day for intra-bank or inter-bank transfer to other holders’ accounts.

- For corporate customers: Transaction approvers are required to convert to this authentication method. However, compulsory conversion is not applied to transaction inquirer/maker. From 1 July 2019, BIDV shall temporarily lock login function of the Transaction approver who has not converted to the new authentication method until such conversion is completed.
