Procedures and documentation

Documents and receipts providing full information on the purpose, quantity, type of foreign currency, terms of payment and money transfer are required in accordance with current regulations on foreign exchange management and of BIDV.
1. Study abroad
Notification on tuition fees and living expenses (if any)
Passport and valid visa (for non visa-exempt countries)
Airfare (if buy in cash)
Proof of family relationship (in case the transactor is not the student)
Limit:
For tuition fees: Amount sold shall follow tuition fee notification.
Living expenses:
- In case the School's notification on living expenses is provided: Amount sold shall follow the notification.
- In case School's notification on living expenses is not available, maximum amount sold shall be USD15,000/person/year depending on country of study
2. Medical treatment abroad
Notification on treatment expenses of foreign health-care facilities
Medical treatment admission/Referral for medical treatment abroad
Passport and valid visa (for non visa-exempt countries)
Airfare (if buy in cash)
Proof of family relationship (in case the transactor is not the student)
Limit:
Hospital's fee: Follow notification of the health-care facilities
Other expenses: As announced by the health-care facilities or up to USD10,000/person/time
3. Overseas business trip
Decision on sending abroad for business trip
Expense notification of foreign partners (if any)
Passport and valid visa (for non visa-exempt countries)
Airfare (if buy in cash)
4. Overseas travel and tourism
Notification on overseas travel and tourism's expenses (if any)
Passport and valid visa (for non visa-exempt countries)
Airfare (if buy in cash)
Limit: As per notification or up to USD5,000/person/time
5. Payment of foreign fees and charges
Fee/charge notification of foreign parties
ID card (in case of transferring foreign currency) or Passport and air ticket or similar documents (in case of carrying foreign currency)
Limit: As per the notification
6. Support relatives overseas
Papers evidencing relative relationship
Valid documents evidencing that the beneficiary is living abroad
Document showing necessary amount (if any) Airfare (if buy in cash)
Limit: Up to USD7,000/person/year or as per necessary amount shown
7. Transfer for inheritance’s purpose
Will, legally binding document on the inheritance division, or the agreements among legal inheritors
Papers confirming the inheritance giver is dead
Paper evidencing amount of money to be transferred abroad is inherited
Valid papers evidencing that the beneficiary is residing overseas
Lawful authorization letter (in case the transactor is not the heir)
8. Money transfer for permanent residence’s purpose
Valid documents issued by a foreign competent authority allowing permanent residence
Papers evidencing the origin of money to be transferred abroad (savings book, bank note, property transfer contract, labor contract, payroll, etc.)
Lawful authorization letter (in case the transactor is not the heir)

General information: A foreign exchange option is an agreement by which the buyer of the option pays the seller a premium for the right, but not obligation, to buy or sell a specific quantity of a foreign currency at a pre-agreed exchange rate in a specific period of time or on a certain future date.
Transaction currencies: currency/currency pairs such as GBP/USD, EUR/USD, AUD/USD, USD/JPY, USD/CAD,... (foreign currency/VND has not been applied).
