This makes BIDV the only bank in Vietnam to offer QR code-based cash withdrawal service from ATMs via mobile app for Hana Bank’s customers, making their trip to Vietnam more convenient and comfortable.

Under the strategic cooperation between the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and Hana Bank (Korea), BIDV has accelerated to provide various value-added services to diversify their products and services ecosystem and increase convenience for customers of Hana Bank.

On 27 September 2022, BIDV officially launched QR code-based cash withdrawal service from ATMs via mobile app of Hana Bank. This service allows customers to use e-wallet of Hana Bank/GLN mobile app ecosystem to scan QR codes and make cash withdrawals from BIDV’s ATMs. From now on, when traveling to Vietnam, whether on a business trip or a vacation, Hana Bank customers globally do not need to carry a lot of cash with them, minimizing the risk of loss during travel. 

This modern, convenient and inter-connected cash withdrawal service brings many benefits to customers. When making withdrawal at BIDV’s ATMs, the withdrawn amount is directly deducted from customer’s Hana Bank/GLN e-wallet. Transactions are fully automated, simple and fast with lower transaction fees than other types of withdrawal transactions for foreign customers. With BIDV’s wide network of 1,600 ATMs nationwide, customers can easily access and use the service.

On 11 November 2019, BIDV officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Hana Bank and announced Hana Bank as a foreign strategic shareholder, owning 15% of BIDV’s charter capital.
